Geraldine Plato, Director of Handmade in America, went to Raleigh this week to spread the Toe Valley Trail message around. I haven't heard how it went. I went to the EnergyXchange and had the opportunity to finally meet Heather Dawes. She's running a great program there. She voiced encouragment for the Trail Project. I met Andy Faller at the Burnsville Chamber of Commerce and he introduced me to Peggy Rogers,Executive Director. I shared our one page info sheet about TVT.
I also went to visit Donald Vance at Tarheel Mica Co. in Plumtree. His family has run the business of adding value to mica for three generations.
Each experience confirms my belief that this valley, it's history and it's people should have it's story told along the road that we all travel.
